Landscaping would definitely help blend the house to the land and soften the appearance of this home. A few tall trees or perhaps some climbing vines to cover some of the brick might even make the windows in the two gable ends appear to better fit the remaining space. Landscaping can't fix everything though. What if this home had been designed with curved top shutters or contrasting concrete window surrounds?
